2019 PKC Pup Shoot-Out This Friday!

The sixty-four (64) member field for the 2019 PKC Pup Shoot-Out has been confirmed. The event is scheduled for Friday, March 1 and Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the Isle of Capri Casino in Lula, Mississippi. Co-sponsored by PKC, Purina, and the Isle of Capri Casino, the winner drives home in a brand new pickup truck! The event is a single elimination event, conducted under Pro Rules with non-hunting judges, with early round cast winners advancing to the late round on Friday night. The four late round cast winners from Friday night compete on Saturday night for the keys to the brand spanking new pickup truck! For one hound and handler, the dividend for the month of hard running to get qualified, will be a huge one. The other three finalists will be paid $2,000 for 2nd, $1,000 for 3rd and $500 for 4th. Each handler will be playing the 1 in 64 odds at the casino of taking home a new truck.

Our field this year consists of 39 Males and 25 Females. Those 64 dogs represent one (1) Black & Tan female; one (1) Bluetick female; one (1) Cross-Bred male; two (2) English males; one (1) Redbone female; and thirty-six (36) Walker males and twenty-two (22) females.

The dogs qualified to compete in the 2019 PKC Pup Shoot-Out are sired by forty-six (46) different Super Stakes Sires! Wipeout Zeb 3 and Power Pack lead the number of qualified pups with four (4) each, followed closely by Neosho River Cuz and Wipeout 3 Sum with three (3) qualifiers each. Britton’s Diamond Dan, Hillbilly Deluxe, Mr Moe, S And M Captain Jack Ph, Slow Talking Blaze, Stylish Bushwacker, Sun Makin History, and The Whole Nine Yards, have two (2) qualifiers each. Bad To The Bones Blk Hawk, Ball's Stylish Harry, Big Time Bentley, Book Um Danno, Clean'em Up Clyde, Get Down Juice, Hardore Curley, Herron's Ace, High Stylin Frank, Hoss Cartwright, Johnny B Good, Kays Blue John, Libertys Hardwood Camo, Logan's White Sabe, M&A Hector Side, Main Street Radar, Max's Rock River Stylish Son, Mellon Creek Joe Collector, Mighty Action Jackson, Normans Bigmac, Parsleys Wipeout Jake, Redneck Mafia, River Bend Snoopy, Skuna River Whitey, Slow Talking Buzz, Stylish Little Manson, Stylish Trader, Time Bandit, Turpin's Insane Cain, W T Mr Clean, Smokin Hotspot, Wildman Sam II, Wilke's Stretch It Strick, and Wipeout Hell Chamber complete the field of qualifiers with one (1) each.

ALL COMPETITORS, JUDGES, GUIDES, GUESTS, SUPPORT PERSONNEL, AND PKC STAFF MEMBERS. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES, ARE ANY VEHICLES TO BE PARKED AT THE MAIN ENTRANE TO THE CASINO FOR ANY PERIOD OF TIME; NO EXCEPTIONS! THE ISLE OF CAPRI CASINO STAFF HAS MADE THIS A MANDATORY REQUIREMENT, AND WE WILL BE REQUIRED TO ABIDE BY THEIR POLICY!

All participants are asked to be on site between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM on Friday, March 1st for pictures. At this time, handlers will draw for their first round cast, as well as, receive a cap and jacket commemorating the event, compliments of Nestle-Purina and PKC. Beginning at 4:00 PM, all participants and their guests will be treated to a brunch consisting of various finger foods and soft drinks, compliments of the Isle of Capri Casino. Calling of casts will follow the brunch, and we hope to bring you the complete matchups soon after draw-out is completed!  

Any qualifier not on site between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM Central Time on Friday will be omitted from the 2019 Pup Shoot-Out coverage in PROHOUND.

Beginning at 4:00 PM, all participants and their guests will be treated to a brunch consisting of various finger foods, compliments of the Isle of Capri Casino.  Calling of casts will follow the brunch, and we hope to bring you the complete matchups soon after draw-out is completed!

Cast winners from the early round on Friday night will recast late to determine the Final Four spots for Saturday night and a one in four chance at a new pickup truck and the other cash awards!!!!! Each member of the final cast will be interviewed on Saturday afternoon by Amy Thomas for articles to be published in PROHOUND.

Each late round cast winner on Friday night will be assigned an interview time for Saturday afternoon after returning to the casino.
