2001 Winter Classic Opener Hunts 222!

The PKC Classics are major National Events, licensed to the PKC National Association and held in conjuncti on with the clubs. The PKC National Association provides $1000 of the Added Purse presented at the Classics. JOY Dog Food is also a major sponsor. The first of the 2001 PKC Classics is being held this weekend in Louisville, Mississippi and kicked off Thursday night with an entry of 222 hounds. This beats the 2000 Thursday night total by 17 hounds.

Louisville is in east central Mississippi, roughly 100 miles northeast of Jackson. The Tombigbee National Forest provides thousands of acres of hunting nearby.
Cool temperatures in the 40’s under clear skies provided the atmosphere for the Thursday night hunt. The following hounds got a piece of the overall $7105 Thursday purse by getting in last night:
