Little Dixie Jamboree Wrap Up
The third weekend in September was obviously not the best of times to be promoting a major coonhound event . The clubs at McAlester and Coalgate, Oklahoma planned long and hard to present a first class event in the 2001 edition of the PKC Little Dixie Jamboree. While sporting events were cancelled in many areas of the country, the decision was made to hold the event and it proved to be the right one. Coon hunters and their families, while deeply respectful of those who lost family members in the events of Terrible Tuesday, found they needed to find strength and security in the company of their fellow hunters. We appreciate the dedication of the clubs in Oklahoma and those in positions of leadership for staying the course and providing an excellent escape from the horrors of the past week. And also thank the hunters who entered 299 hounds in the three-night hunt.The winners of the Thursday and Friday night events were previously posted. Here are the Saturday winners:
