Kalona, Iowa Blue Ribbon Hunt
Kalona, IA - PKC President Roy Tramble reports great weather although the area has recorded lots of rain, putting the creeks and rivers out of their banks in some places. There were not as many coons treed as normal for Iowa, most likely due to this factor. According to Roy, Danny Hamby who is traveling with him this weekend walked to nine trees as judge of an early round cast and the last tree was a mile deep, including wading water over his waist. PKC judges are tough! Roy also reports an excellent job by the club with the guides lined up and ready. One question was heard all night. There is no rain in the forecast for Saturday night.PKC pro races are always interesting. The top two hounds on the season leader board drew together in both rounds last night. Ronnie Smith and Junior Jackson, who hunts Ron McCauley's Sailor dog both lost in the early round. They drew together late with Smith, hunting Strickland and Cramer's Bad Habit emerging the winner.
