Mt. Vernon, IL—We are down to the last day of the PKC World Squirrel Championship. We hunted 29 entries t his year, up from last. We had entrants from as far away as Georgia and Alabama. The weather has been extremely dry and windy. The squirrels have been harder to come by this time. We are down to the four best and they are: Oklahoma Dude, Owned by Joe Sutmiller and Handled by his son, Jason; Bobby Owned and Handled by Floyd Dowds; Flaming Fannie Owned and Handled by Doug Marlow; and Oklahoma Jackpot, Owned and Handled by Keith Sutmiller. These men went out heads-up just the way I have them listed here. Dan Marlow and Bud Stretch are serving as judges, with Dave Ellis and Dave Ward taking on the guiding duties. We have had a super smooth hunt up until now and I am hopeful it continues. We will report the winners this evening. The payback this year is $1,000 for 1st, $500 for 2nd and $150 each for the consolation winners.
