MISSISSIPPI STATE HUNT

All sixteen of the top hounds from 2010 were p resent with snow shoes on to compete in the Mississippi State Hunt. For the first time in my memory, dog number 17 did not get to hunt. Although conditions were bad with a lot of snow still in the woods, there were a few coons moving and we saw a little good dog work. Perry Ross female Bluetick “Sally” treed three singles. Although several casts had to get by on circle points, there were several coons treed. There were 36 hounds in the open event giving us a total of 51 entries for the night, outstanding for the conditions we were under.

When the dust all settled about 4:30 this morning the new Mississippi State Champion was:

Sixpack’s Wipeout Keg, owned by Sullivan and Sullivan and handled by Derrick Kuroda

2nd Place: Ross Tree Slammin Sally, Perry Ross, Owner and Handler

3rd Place: Saint Nikki, owned by Tommy Monsour

4th Place: D & D Savage Sam, Owned by Cook or Malone and handled by David Malone

OPEN EVENT - 35 DOGS

FINAL FOUR - SPLIT - $178.13 EACH
