Lone Star Fall Classic Overall Winner

Marquez, TX - Van Pearce long time hunter and supporter of PKC outlasted 123 hounds, handlers and (3) nigh ts of hunting to win the first overall Lone Star Fall Classic Championship. Van and his fine young hound Lincoln won their cast all (3) nights getting into the Final Four 2 out of 3 nights. He had a combined score of 950+ (Thursday 500+ high score, Friday 325+ high score, & Saturday 125+ Cast Winner). He received a Valley Creek Hunting Light donated by Redgy and Wynell Ramsey of Valley Creek Hunting Supplies. Congratulations Van Pearce and Lincoln on a job well done from the Lone Star Fall Classic.

As everyone knows, without sponsors, help from local hunters, and the community, hunts like this could not be put on so I would like to take time to express some gratitude. To Redgy and Wynell Ramsey and Valley Creek Hunting Supplies for their willingness to always help. They donated the light that was given away to the Overall Champion and also made a monetary contribution. Thank you to Mitch Hall and Pied Piper Pet Foods for the monetary donation to the Lone Star Fall Classic. To the Marquez Volunteer Fire Dept. for the use of their building and their sleepless hours preparing food for the hunters. The food was extremely good especially the breakfast. Thank you to Noah Powell for his hard work getting guides rounded up for this event. To all the guides who allowed our fine hounds to roam their land and do something they enjoy. Thank you to the Lone Star 5000 for their donation and all of their board members who helped out wherever needed. To all the judges who were asked to judge. They did a great job and we only had one question. To Leon County Coonhunters for putting on the hunt Thurs. night hunt. To the Shepard, TX. and Hearne, TX. clubs for putting on the (2) warm up hunts Tues. and Wed. nights. They did a great job. Floyd Daniels, Wesley Rasco and Gary Puska get a special thanks for putting those hunts on at their club locations. To all the participants that showed up to support the 1st annual Lone Star Fall Classic. Without your support this hunt could have never happened. It was a pleasure to meet some new people as well as their hounds. We are going to make this an annual event so mark it on your calendar. This hunt was a great success for being the first one. Thanks for PKC's support of our efforts to try to bring Texas back to one of the most dominant states in competion hunting.
