2022 PKC Senior Showdown This Week!
Evansville, IN –
The sixty-four (64) member field for the 2022 PKC Senior Showdown has been confirmed. The event is scheduled for February 4 & 5, 2022 in Batesville, Mississippi. Co-sponsored by Purina, the winner receives a brand-new pickup truck! The event is a single elimination event, conducted under Pro Rules with non-hunting judges, with early round cast winners advancing to the late round on Friday night. These four (4) late round cast winners compete on Saturday night for the awards! In addition to the award to the winner on Saturday night, other members of the final cast will receive $2,000 to the reserve champion, $1,000 to third place, and $500 to fourth place.
Our field this year consists of forty-two (42) males and twenty-two (22) females. Those sixty-four (64) dogs represent three (3) Black & Tan males; one (1) Bluetick male; one (1) Cross Bred male and three (3) females; four (4) English females; two (2) Redbone males and one (1) female, and thirty-four (34) Walker males and fifteen (15) females.
Florida leads the field with ten (10) qualifiers, followed by Indiana with seven (7). North Carolina, Oklahoma, and Tennessee qualified six (6) each. Alabama, Missouri and Texas have four (4) qualifiers each, followed by Georgia and Ohio with three (3) qualifiers each. Kentucky, Louisiana, and Mississippi qualified two (2) each. Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia round out the field with one (1) qualifier each.
Little Bit of Nothin, a Walker female with a birth date of 02/27/2011, owned by Clearlake Creek Kennels of McAlester, Oklahoma is the eldest of the qualifiers at the tender age of almost eleven (11) years old, followed by Coma Stylish Death Wish, another Walker female, born 01/10/2012. Wish is owned by Tolton Johns of Mittie, Louisiana. Our youngest qualifiers are Heather Island Marvelous Marv, a Walker male, owned by Ike Rainey of Belleview, Florida, with a birth date of 09/01/2017. Marv is ten days younger than Just Ole’ Scout, a Walker female, owned by James Robinson of Canton, North Carolina, with a birth date of 08/22/2017. Completing the field are an additional one (1) born in 2012; five (5) born in 2013; eleven (11) born in 2014; fifteen (15) born in 2015, twenty-two (22) born in 2016, and six (6) born in 2017.

All qualifiers will receive a jacket commemorating their qualification for the event, compliments of PKC and PURINA!
Please be on time or early for picture taking on Friday, February 4th. Individual pictures will be taken between 3 pm and 4 pm.
ALL contestants will be required to present his/her dog for pictures; NO EXCEPTIONS!
Calling of casts will take place as close to 5:30 pm as possible, and we hope to bring you the complete matchups soon after draw-out is completed!
Cast winners from the early round on Friday night will recast late to determine the Final Four spots for Saturday night and a one in four chance at being crowned the 2022 Senior Showdown Champion!!!!!
Each member of the final cast will be interviewed on Saturday afternoon by Amy Thomas for articles to be published on the PKC website and other social media sites. Each late round cast winner on Friday night will be assigned an interview time for Saturday afternoon after returning from late round casts.
FINAL CAST ON SATURDAY MAY be filmed live by Backwoods Heritage Productions.
