The first night of the 22nd Annual PKC Lone Star 5,000+ kicked off with an arctic blast tonight in Iola. It was a sunny, but a little cool today for this part of the country, but once the north wind picked up to 20 mph, it was downright cold. Despite the wind chill factor, we still had a good turnout of 80 entries at the Iola Fire Department, by the entry deadline. Many members are here to take a shot at the huge awards package, but some are looking to bag one of those one-of-a-kind Lone Star Belt Buckles. Both the Open and Pup Finalists chose to hunt it off again tonight, but they sure got bundled up to do it.

The final night of the Fifteenth Annual PKC Jewett Classic finished up on a cool evening with a very nice crowd packing the Civic Center. The entries were up forty-one dogs for the Small Town Texas event, as compared to last year's numbers. We sure like how the New Year is starting to shape up in the great state of Texas! Once again, both the Open and Pup Divisions chose to hunt it off to see who has the top dog of the night.
They are calling for even cooler temperatures over the next three days and we expect some really nice scores coming out of the Twenty-Second Annual Lone Star 5,000+ in Iola. Hope to see ya down there!

The Fifteenth Annual PKC Jewett Classic kicked off tonight with a nice crowd packing the Civic Center in Jewett, Texas. The weatherman cooperated well and the 45 degree air at draw out time was well received by hound and hunter alike. Both the Open and Pup Divisions chose to hunt it off and see who has the best for the night. Stay tuned for these final results.
