Van Pearce hosted the first ever PKC Texas Black-Eyed Pea Classic last week at his home in Athens, Texas. The format was a three-night hunt under PKC Pro Rules, with sixteen entries each night. These sixteen entrants hunted in four, 4-Dog casts early. The late round each night consisted of the four early round cast winners. The entry fee of $6,500 covered three entries, one third for each of the three nights. The late round awards totaled $31,500 each night. The total awards paid out for all three nights combined was an amazing $94,500.

Thanks go out to the four Pro Judges who went to the woods both rounds each night as Judges and Panel Members; John Granberry, Richie Manning, Benny Taylor and T John Treadwell. We appreciate Van hosting this event and everyone who took part in making the first PKC Texas Black-Eyed Pea Classic a huge success!!!
