―2012 Senior Showdown―

Evansville, IN –

The sixty-four (64) member field for the 2012 PKC Seniors’ Showdown has been confirmed. The event is scheduled for February 3 & 4, 2012 at the Isle of Capri Casino in Lula, Mississippi. Co-sponsored by PKC, Purina, and the Isle of Capri Casino, the winner drives home in a brand new pickup truck!

The event is a single elimination event, conducted under Pro Rules with non-hunting judges, with early round cast winners advancing to the late round on Friday night. The four late round cast winners compete on Saturday night for the keys to the brand spanking new Chevrolet pickup truck! In addition to the pickup truck that will be awarded on Saturday night, those members of the final cast not winning the truck will receive $2,000 to the runner-up, $1,000 to third place, and $500 to fourth place.

Our field this year consist of 39 Males and 25 Females. Those 64 dogs represent one Black & Tan male; one Bluetick male and two females; two Cross-Bred males and one female; two English males and one female; and 33 Walker males and 21 females.

Mississippi leads the field with seven qualifiers, followed by Ohio with six qualifiers; followed by Kentucky and Tennessee with five each; Alabama and Missouri with four each; Georgia, Illinois, Michigan, North Carolina and South Carolina with three each; Arkansas, Indiana, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia qualified two each; Iowa, Louisiana, Nebraska, and New York complete the field with one qualifier each.

Wild Style Cheech, a Walker Female, owned by Jeremy Haislip Or Troy Stocstill of Petersburg, Tennessee, is the oldest of the qualifiers at the tender age of ten years and 11 month old, followed by Turner’s Rebel Fly, owned by Gary Turner of Trinity, North Carolina, with a birth date of 09/20/2003. Our youngest qualifiers are Smokin’ Blue Boomer, owned by Cody Westbrook, and Tree Slammin Harry II , owned by Andy Mathis, both born on 10/01/2007. An additional twenty 2007 models join Boomer and Harry II in the four-year old range. The remainder of the field consists of seven 2004 models, seventeen 2005 models, and sixteen 2006 models.

All qualifiers will receive a cap and jacket commemorating their qualification for the event, compliments of Purina and PKC, and are asked to please wear the jacket for picture taking!

Pictures of all qualifiers will be taken between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM at a site designated by the casino, and all participants are being asked to please be on time.

Beginning at 4:30 PM, all participants and their guests will be treated to a brunch consisting of various finger foods, compliments of the Isle of Capri Casino.

DRAW-OUT will follow the brunch, and we hope to bring you the complete matchups soon after draw-out is completed!

Cast winners from the early round on Friday night will recast late to determine the Final Four spots for Saturday night and a one in four chance at a new pickup truck and the other cash awards!!!!!

Each member of the final cast will be interviewed on Saturday afternoon by Amy Kovac-Thomas for articles to be published in PROHOUND. Each late round cast winner on Friday night will be assigned an interview time for Saturday afternoon on returning to the casino.
