Louisville, MS - Opening night jitters must have quickly subsided within the group of nearly 200 hunters who gave it a shot at the 2002 edition of the PKC Winter Classic. Or perhaps it was that old PKC Pride coming through in the strong knowledge of the Open Event rules the hunters displayed. Whatever the reason, no questions were brought in for panels to consider. Here are the successful hunters who put enough points on the card to earn a slot in the Final Four. Each group elected to split on night number one and head for the motels early. Winners are indicated with their early round scores as well as the breed of hound they are hunting and the amount of money they earned.

The motels and restaurants in Louisville will soon come alive as the coon hunters, rested and ready to talk dogs and last night's hunt will begin to stir. Hounds will roll in the grass, groaning, stretching and soaking up the sun's energy for night number two. We'll be here with the entry totals and the results of the Friday night hunt, traditionally the largest of the three, as soon as they are available.

PKC - If coon hunting is in your blood, it's definitely where you need to be!
