Louisville, MS - PKC hunting, like the creeping kudzu vine, has taken the Southland by storm. From it's ro ots in the Memphis area, an idea conceived in the mind of founder Jarvis Umphers, the concept of hunting for monetary awards did not happen immediately. It took time but now PKC is the undisputed hunt of choice for the southern houndsman and is spreading rapidly throughout the four corners of the coon hunting world. Part of the success is the number of major events PKC offers with attractive purses such as the $5000 added purse this weekend at the PKC Winter Classic.

All is quiet at the fairgrounds in Louisville, Mississippi this morning. The final round of the famed PKC Winter Classic is in the record books for another year. The hunt was a huge success, entering 671 hounds in three nights and presenting $18,452.50 in "chart" awards to the winners plus another $5000 in added purses running the awards total to $23452.50 for the event. For those who have wondered why PKC has enjoyed such tremendous success should begin to see the picture more clearly seeing those figures.

Eight of the Saturday night hunters had an enjoyable, if somewhat uncomfortable ride home today as they were forced to sit on the lump of cash earned by a Final Four appearance in last night's hunt. Here they are:
