Flora, Illinois - The wood lots of Clay County, Illinois are a lot quieter today. For three days running, the woods in and around Flora have been ringing and the tree tops swinging as the squirrels and squirrel dogs of the 2002 PKC World Squirrel Dog Championship and accompanying PKC Squirrel Dog Championship have been doing their thing. The total entry of 47 of the nation’s top squirrel-getters have now been loaded and hauled home after a very successful series of events at Flora. According to PKC’s Squirrel Division Director Rick Stretch, this year’s event saw more entrants than in the past two years proving that the PKC squirrel program may be on the right track for a bright future.
