Jewett Classic hunts 207!

Jewett, TX - "The Little Hunt That Could" would easily describe the Jewett Classic, staged on Tuesday and Wednesday nights as a warm-up event for the PKC Lone Star 5000 event. Held at the Civic Center in the town by the same name, the Jewett Classic is in it's second year which makes the two-night, mid-week entry of 207 dogs this year very impressive indeed.

Each night the event featured $500 added on the Pup Derbies and $1000 added on the Open Events. The hunters in each event, each night elected to split the purse, perhaps looking ahead to the Lone Star 5000 to be held Thursday through Friday in Iola, a distance of 70 miles by major highways from Jewett.
