Dixie Deluxe Results

The “Dixie Deluxe” is now behind us. The 1500.00 added purse two night event was the crescendo of a good y ear for the Greenville, Alabama club. The expectations of the club were exceeded with hounds and hunters from multiple southeastern states coming out to compete. The good Lord himself seemed to give his blessing with the wonderful weather. This time of year here in the south we deem as the dogs days due to the intolerable heat and humidity turned out to be quite nice on Friday and Saturday. The cool breezes seemed to bring a renewed interest and excitement for the arrival of fall and coon season.
Friday night saw 52 dogs hit the woods ending in a split as follows: Thunder owned and handled by Davis Bond, Keeper owned by Carnegie/Chapman handled by Craig Dechamp, Dixie owned by Dollar/Freeman handled by Matt Hamilton and Bandit owned and handled by Ray Osborne. The pup cast was won by Stylish Bee owned and handled by Eddie Young. Saturday night saw 62 dogs hitting the woods with a second round ending as follows: 1st place Abbie owned by Carlton Mitchell handled by Jeff McCord, 2nd Shadow owned and handled by Bernard Queen, 3rd Swamp owned and handled by Mike Miles and 4th Mandy owned and handled by Tim Missildine. The pup cast was won by Coyote Ugly owned and handled by Temple Coley. A big “thanks” to all who helped make this hunt be a great success and thanks to PKC for supporting our great sport.
