Breeders Showcase This Week
Aurora, KY - The 2008 PKC Breeders’ Showcase gets underway next week in Aurora, Kentucky. The annual even t is held in the Tennis Center at Ken Lake State Park. Activities get underway on Monday night, July 21st with a $50 one-hour warm-up Open Event at Paducah, followed on Tuesday night with another $50 warm-up one-hour Open Event at Clinton. The warm-up hunts conclude on Wednesday night at Smithland with a one-hour $50 Open Event.
The Breeders’ Showcase events begin on Thursday night with a Junior Division (One-Year Olds) Pup Derby, a Senior Division (Two-Year Olds) Pup Derby, and an Open Event. The Added Purse for each Pup Derby is $750 for both the Junior and Senior Divisions, with the Open Event featuring an added purse of $500.
The same events will be held on both Friday and Saturday nights with the same added purses up for grabs.
An added feature to the Breeders’ Showcase is a $500 award paid to the High Scoring Dog in both Pup Divisions. The winner of this award is determined by combining the scores from all three nights of competition, with the pup having the best combined score being declared the Breeders’ Showcase Champion for the respective division. The winner also receives a beautiful plaque honoring its’ accomplishments!
