Re: Question!!!
I wasn't at this pro hunt. But it likes I keep saying there are not enough qualified non hunting judges at the pro hunts. I have said this time and time again.

Re: Question!!!
Brandon, you take your typical approach, and attack the person, and not the point made. I'm quite ok with that, and expected it from you. No biggie. I know nothing about this situation, but if you can't trust others out there to judge things right, and especially panel members then we're screwed. If you send a backup guide with another cast member to handle his dog then how can he minus the dog for two minutes, or if he was off the tree by the logic being used in these comments? I don't even know who this happened to, but if the dang dog didn't hunt for fifteen minutes he's scratched. Take your lumps, and quit trying to use technicalities to circumvent he rules. If this comment don't apply to this scenario then it's free, and I won't charge ya....

If the dog was hunting or not isn't the real issue here. The question is whether or not a walking panel has the authority to ENFORCE rules. My understanding is that the panel only has the authority to INTERPRET the rules when there is a disagreement. Not sure why the panel and judge were separated to begin with.

Re: Question!!!
If a member of the panel can run the two on a dog while away from the rest of the cast why can't one run the time on a non-working dog? I need more details because I can't figure why the panel wasn't with the judge in the first place

Re: Question!!!
Im sure that the panel member was separated from the case because he was told to walk with another handler to go handle a dog treed in. Ive seen cases in a non hunting judge cast that the judge tell a walk a long (in my case it was a guide) to go with me and handle my dog and if he quits treeing run the two or if he isn't treed judge him and go from there. Really no difference in this case is there?

Right. But part of the panel should be with the judge or at other trees waiting to be scored. Something weird here for sure.

Re: Question!!!
Panel should be with judge at all times and like I said before all they are out there for is if there is a question .Sometimes judges and panels take the easy way out an this is where alot of problems occur.
I like one that makes you feel lonely

Re: Question!!!
Dog quit, and the right dog won... That's all we're hunting for, and trying to do, and rule #20 is what it sounds like was used. They used the best judgment they had, and if the right dog won that's all that matters. Beating this dead horse is doing a disservice to this sport, and trying to reward a dog that didn't deserve the win based on a technicality is crap. If a panel member can't hold more than one role on a cast than that's pretty pitiful. Please don't take this as an attack on anyone, and I'm only offering my two sense.
