HOF Bruce Gilliam

Don’t post a lot on here , but I couldn’t resist to expand some on the hall of inductance of Mr Bruce Gilliam. I first met Bruce in the early 90’s and from that time forward I considered him a friend. At the peak of his competition hunting times he mentored and help many people in the sport. He won / accomplished many titles that most only dream of doing. In trying to list them , I will miss some but imagine raising ,training and handling multiple platinum champions , final cast of super stakes , PKC nationals and 2 separate PKC world hunt final casts along with multiple state and breed race winners ! All of that with black and tan hounds that him and his dad bred, raised and trained! He also owned super stakes sire of the year in 1992 (I’m not 100% on the year).
I co owned and hunted some dogs with Bruce and he taught me alot about a dog and the different styles of dogs , where they operated best at. I would travel to his home in alabama or major events just visit with Bruce & Johnny (his dad) and we would constantly talk of handling situations then apply rules to all types of situations. I feel pretty confident that most everyone that ever met, hunted with or was judged by the Gilliam’s left saying “I was treated fair” ! Maybe didn’t go the way they hoped , but it was fair. All of this just say I was very pleased to see Bruce was named to the hall of fame and hope many folks continue to present themselves in the competition world as Bruce and Johnny always have . It was well earned.
