This was absolutely a hunt that everyone enjoyed! I understand winning big money is nice but where is this sport going? We better rewind and get back too the basics and make memories and new friends! Some of the best hunts I remember are the ones I either got beat or come from the back too win and I mean A 15,25 and 50 dollar hunt! I’ve not been in a hunt in about 4 years and never really went hard just enough but it I hate seeing this! I’m so glad a man has the choice too win big money that’s awesome but it should be the world hunt or the nationals even the super stakes! Does hunter’s ever haul a kid around anymore too the hunts! It’s like everything else in this world we so stuck on money that we forget why we fell in love with the sport we all love! Jmop!

Dang I'm going to miss going to the Jasper jamboree. At one time it was the biggest and best pkc hunt in SC heck maybe even in the southeast.

Gotta agree with many comments made here in Support of The Open Events I too am A Little Guy in this Sport trying to run with The Big Dogs couple times a year No doubt The Whole Ridgeland CREW has done an Outstanding Job thru the years I Always felt Welcomed and treated Fairly. Time Eventually gets Everything and Everyone and Change Always Comes …In this Sport It’s bout Participates and participating and Unless We got A Winner most of us are on the Sidelines as my self many times and fail to support our Clubs That’s just how it is …I hate to see the Open Events No longer held but We live in a fast pace world and yes Money Plays it’s part in this Sport too , These Big Purse Hunts as 1000,$5000 EF will Eliminate 80% Coon Hunters in my circle with the Big $$$ Entry Fees But PKC still offers us Little Guys Affordable Hunts most of us can participate Any Weekend…I do see where These High $ Hunts could be Rewarding for The Die Hard Serious Owners Handlers and Dog Men, A $1000 ENtry Fee isn’t a lot of money nowadays But it’s lot TO GAMBLE TO LOSE If it’s all you got I still think even in these High $ Hunts The Pups and Senior Hounds if possible should compete SEPARATELY at least In the Early Round if Enuff Participates and let’s face it Hunting Spots are getting harder to get But I think if you gonna ask a man to pay $1000.00 EF or Higher You should also have adequate Hunting Guides and NON HINTING JUDGES To allow the Pups or Hounds To Determine The Best Hound in 2 Hour Hunts. jmo …

These big money $1000 plus hunts have basically put the small clubs out of business like Walmart put the mom and pop businesses out the small man that has to pay his on way don’t have no hunts to go to now because nobody wants to hunt them now 2 or 3 entries now. But that’s alright it’s all coming to a head they already can’t fill the hunts now and its gonna be like nascar they turned their back on the people that supported nascar for the money people and now it’s full of empty stands it’s gonna take care of itself

I went to The Jasper jam for 25 years.I met so many good people over the years! By far,my favorite event I’ve had the pleasure of attending! It left such an impression on me that I plan on retiring to the low country in a few years.
Ticked up and lonely, deep with the grease!
It's not just a way,it's the only way!
