Fall Super Stakes Covid-19 Guidelines

Postby R D Carnegie » Wed Sep 09, 2020 7:04 am

The City of Salem, Illinois and the Marion County, Illinois Health Department have issued the following guidelines and mandatory requirements in order for PKC to be able to hold the 2020 Fall Super Stakes Championship at Salem on September 21-26, 2020.

• Everyone entering the Marion County Fairgrounds building will be required to have his/her temperature checked. Anyone testing with a higher than normal temperature will be required to leave the hunt site.

• Everyone entering the host site building of the event will be required to wear a mask; NO EXCEPTIONS!

• There will be no more than fifty (50) people allowed in the host site building at any time during the duration of the event. We plan to keep close watch on these numbers, and should we ask you not to enter the building due to exceeding the number allowed, please abide by our instructions.

Any member that has a problem with having his/her temperature checked or wearing a mask while inside the building, we respectfully ask that you not go on the Marion County Fairgrounds during the Fall Super Stakes Championships. These are not guidelines set by PKC! These are the guidelines we must follow in order to hold the Fall Super Stakes Championships.

We sincerely THANK EVERYONE for your cooperation during these difficult times!

There are too many variables for us to accept call in entries. However, it is completely acceptable for one member to confirm more than one entry. If you do not want to go to the fairgrounds, ask your buddy to confirm your entry for you.

Also, we have extended the entry confirmation period to begin at 2 pm each day instead of the advertised time of 3 pm. Entry confirmations will still end at 5:30 pm as advertised.

We all know that these are trying times, we ask that everyone confirm their entry as early as possible to avoid a last-minute long line to confirm entries. The 50 people maximum will make confirming entries much more difficult. We further ask that everyone work with us to try and make this process as easy as possible. The more cooperation we get from our members, the smoother this process will be.

THANK YOU!

A higher than normal temperature does not mean that you cannot hunt! It means that you are not allowed to enter the enclosed building.

So a higher temperature means you can’t be in the building because of possible COVID spread or infection but your still going to allow these members to participate in cast where those cast members may potentially be exposed to COVID ? So are there also going to be guidelines about members riding together to casting spots ? :? sounds like the pkc employees are going to be looked after a litte more carefully than its members . And I for one believe Mr . Paynter is on to something with being allowed to call in for entry confirmation is in these trying times you can speak to a doctor and get medical attention over the phone and your Privacy and rights are upheld , I would think a great organization like pkc could take some confirmations over the phone
They are all perfect until you turn them loose !

I was NOT trying to stir anything up at all this time. Just would absolutely hate to drive that far up there and not be able to hunt. I think Salem is going overboard with it though.

Thank you PKC and RD for allowing us to have this hunt. It is a simple process one that we all should easily respect and make the best of it.

I don’t necessarily agree with all the guidelines put in place for this hunt by the town but am willing to abide by them. I’m sure there will be several folks decide not to go because of them. So why not throw a dog a bone & make all the early rounds a 2 hour cast?

The guidelines were put in place by the health dept the city has nothing to do but abide by those put in place I don’t see this being a big issue most of the time there’s not many people inside anyways and if your against getting your temp took by digital thermometer we can always use vern with the old fashion kind

It seems the easy solution would be to take entries outside.

Has anyone heard if anybody that attended the spring super stakes got sick during or afterwards? Indiana was great first time at the spring super stakes and I hope it want be my last. We've been getting our Temps taking by digital thermometer for awhile now every day before we can enter the gate at my job. There policy is if you have a high temp and feel fine they will wait 10 mins and recheck your temp. Good luck to everyone attending still should be a great event.
